Social Studies 20-1 and 20-2 Teacher Resource Guide

This resource is intended to help teachers explore the overarching theme of the 20-1 and 20-2 Social Studies courses with their students. The Nationalism in the North Teacher’s Guide provides a variety of classroom activities, black line masters and other teaching resources – particularly digital assets on the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centres online NWT Timeline – to help make the theme of nationalism engaging for northern students. The background, development and implications of land claims and treaties are explored in ways that give students a context for how these processes evolved from pre-contact times through to the settlement of various claims today.
