Geographical Information System (GIS) Capacities in the Northwest Territories. The Canadian Biodiversity Strategy calls for the development of information management systems to facilitate the rapid analysis and distribution of biological and biophysical data and information. GIS is recognized as one of the most efficient ways to share and analyze data and information between organizations involved in landscape-level resource and ecological management.
